The top problem people face when finding a place to live is finding a place they really want that meets all of their needs.
There are, of course, hard constraints like budget and number of beds, but there are also equally important nuanced criteria, like being close to a park, or having good natural light for plants, or being on the lowest level for accessibility. Current search filters are too coarse and rigid for these nuances, and as a result people often get overwhelmed by irrelevant noise in the home search process.
The solution
We began with renters in the Boston area. We let renters express their nuanced criteria in natural language and then use AI to score every listing on the market for their personal needs. Based on the score, we then notify people when a listing comes on the market scores highly for them and explain the pros and cons for the listing. This reduces the decision fatigue and stress for people, and surfaces homes personally matched for each user.
